Ritual

Ceremonial cacao is a meeting. A heart-opening conversation between you, the forest, and the ancient tree-being. This guide is not a rulebook but a gentle pathway: a way to prepare, to breathe, to soften, and to let the ritual become yours.

Ritual | A Way of Meeting Cacao

Ceremonial cacao is a slow companion; a forest-being who meets you in the space between breath and quiet. Ritual is simply the act of arriving. A moment to soften, listen, and return to yourself with presence.

Working With Her Energy

Cacao is a soft, heart-led ally.
She opens gently, never pushing, never forcing.
When you sit with her, listen for

• the softening in the chest the lengthening of breath
• the subtle warmth through the ribs
• the quiet ideas that rise like mist
• the emotional clarity that unfolds without urgency

She meets you where you are,
your body sets the pace.
your presence is the ritual.

Before you sip, prepare your cacao with care | A simple, grounding ritual that brings warmth, clarity, and a gentle settling into the moment.

Ritual| A Gentle Guide

Preparing the Space

Cacao responds to the space you offer her.
Before you heat the water or touch the beans, pause.
Let your breath settle.
Let the room shift from ordinary time into quiet time.

Preparing the Cacao | For Ritual

Cacao melts best when your hands slow down. This is how she begins to open.

Ingredients (single cup):

15–20g ceremonial cacao
120ml warm water or plant milk
Optional: coconut sugar, honey, rose, cinnamon, cardamom

Method:

Warm your liquid gently. Warm, never boiling; you’re keeping her nutrients and spirit alive.
• Finely chop the cacao. Small pieces melt with ease and grace.
• Place the cacao in a ceramic or clay bowl (avoid metal; it sharpens the field).
• Pour in a little warm liquid and stir slowly with a wooden spoon or molinillo until a smooth paste forms.
• Add more liquid in small waves, folding it in with breath and intention.

Pour into your cup. Hold it for a moment before you drink. This is how you begin to meet her.

Preparing the Cacao | For Ceremony

Ingredients (serves 1):

• 20–42g ceremonial cacao
• 120–180ml warm water or plant milk
• Herbs, spices, sweetener if called
Method:

  1. Cleanse your body, your tools, and the room with smoke, with intention, or with breath. Prepare the cacao just as above: slow, warm, gentle, unhurried.
  2. As she melts, speak your intention softly into the bowl.
  3. When you pour the cacao into your cup, breathe your prayers into the steam.
Sip with presence. Let her medicine move through your chest, your ribs, your whole field.

She will meet you wherever you are willing to be met.

Dosage & Listening

  • Daily ritual: 15–20g
  • Deeper emotional work: 25–30g
  • Full ceremony: 35–42g

Begin small. Listen.
Your heart, not the measurement determines the dose.

After Ritual & Ceremony

Sit for a moment after your last sip.
Let the warmth anchor through your body.
Maybe write a line or two, breathe once more, or offer thanks. Your ritual and ceremony closes the moment you decide it does, and sometimes it keeps unfolding long after.

Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated

Cacao is a daily ritual of return.

A moment to feel the body, open the heart, and reconnect with the forest frequency she carries.
